Type Accents has a number of settings that you can change to make it work
differently.
To change these settings, select "Type Accents - Options" from your Start Menu
or right click on the Type Accents icon (a small white é) in the system tray (the area next to the clock, usually in the
bottom right hand corner of the screen) and select "Options".
On the "Program Compatibility" tab of the options screen, you can change
how Type Accents interacts with other programs.

Type Accents works with most programs automatically. However some programs have
trouble understanding the simulated keystrokes that Type Accents uses. For these
programs you can get Type Accents to automatically copy and paste the letter
into the program instead.
You should only change these settings if you are having a problem using Type
Accents with a particular program.
Input Methods
Type Accents has 3 different ways of inserting characters into other programs,
these are:
Simulate Keystrokes: This is the default method and will work in most programs.
Type Accents pretends that your keyboard has a special key for the character you
are typing and tells the other program that you have pressed this keyboard key.
Use Clipboard (Ctrl + V): This input method works by copying the character you
need to the clipboard (just like clicking copy in Word, etc) and then pastes the
character into the open program. It does this by pretending to press the
keyboard shortcut Ctrl + V which most programs understand to mean paste.
Use Clipboard (Shift + Ins): This input method works the same as "Use Clipboard
(Ctrl + V)" except that the character is now pasted into the open program by
using the keyboard shortcut Shift + Insert which most programs also understand
to mean paste.
Default Setting
By default Type Accents will use the "Simulate Keystrokes" input method, you can
change this by selecting a different option next to "By Default".
Individual Program Settings
You can also change the input method just for 1 program. To do this make
sure the program is open before you open the options screen, and then change the
input method next to the program in the list. If Type Accents doesn't work
with a program try setting the input method to "Use Clipboard (Ctrl + V)" and if
this doesn't work you can also try "Use Clipboard (Shift + Ins)". If
neither of these options works for you let us know
and we will try to fix the problem for you.
